Common Ground Adventures provides professional training and instruction on how to become a recreational tree climber, how to facilitate client climbers, and how to safely use all climbing gear. Our tree climbing training can be tailored for an individual climber or to outfit and train your entire staff so you can begin to offer tree climbing to your clients. Training can take place at our grove in Parrish, FL or on your property.
Basic Tree Climbing Course
Our Basic Tree Climbing Training Course is a three-day course wherein students learn how to enter and climb within a tree using the double rope technique (DRT). Topics covered will include:
Tree assessment, proper equipment use, how to enter the canopy, mid-air transfers, keeping safe in the trees, exiting the canopy, and much more!
Facilitator Course
Individuals that have completed the Basic Tree Climbing Training Course are eligible to take the Facilitator Course. Students will learn how to safely facilitate their clients on a tree climbing adventure. Topics covered will include: Facilitation skills, adaptive techniques for climbers of different abilities, keeping climbers safe, and much more!
